Engineering and Technology Teacher - Malden Catholic High School

Malden Catholic, a Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Codivisional High School for young men and women, seeks a candidate for a PLTW Engineering and Technology teaching position for the 2024-2025 school year. Master’s degree in field and minimum 2 years’ teaching experience preferred.

-Must hold PLTW engineering certificate or be willing to be trained by attending PLTW engineering training during June and/or July (and when offered during the school year) in order to become certified to teach selected courses.
-The successful candidate will become a PLTW instructor teaching the nationally certified STEM curriculum.
-Strong facilitator of student learning in collaborative and problem-solving environments
-Knowledge, Skills and Abilities which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Including Computer and Equipment Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge and experience with Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; CAD and Development software as required through PLTW.
-Must be capable of performing physical demands of the job, including but not limited to lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for long periods of time.
-Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
-Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Candidates should have the competency and passion to engage every student in a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, as well as a desire to become an active and collegial member of an adult community of learners.

The Teacher:
-Teaches 5 periods, courses as assigned.
-Models the Catholic values of the school
-Inspires, promotes, and nurtures the secondary level education of students by planning and tailoring courses of study; monitoring, assisting with, and assessing academic efforts.
-Provides a safe classroom environment conducive to learning and attentive to varied learning styles.
-Keeps parents informed of student progress.
