Saint Columbkille Partnership School, located in the Brighton neighborhood of Boston, educates students aged 2.9 years through Grade 8.  Founded in 1901 by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Boston, the school has educated generations of local families. Saint Columbkille Partnership School was re-established in 2006 and enjoys a unique partnership with Boston College, as the Laboratory School affiliated with its Lynch School of Education and Human Development, and with the Archdiocese of Boston and Saint Columbkille Parish.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual giving program, setting goals, creating targeted campaigns, and coordinating with volunteers and stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective donor stewardship, maximize corporate matching gifts, and recommend strategies for meeting fundraising objectives.
  • Plan and execute year-round events and activities for all school constituencies to enhance their connection and involvement with the school.
  • Develop and implement advancement programs and events, including the BC Race to Educate, Fr. Leahy’s Christmas Reception, and Giving Tuesday, in collaboration with the Head of School and Board of Trustees to enrich the educational experience for current students and engage the school community.
  • Conduct research, solicitations, and proposal writing for corporations and foundations, while also coordinating communications efforts including social media and email for all Advancement events.
  • Develop and execute year-round events and activities for alumni to enhance their connection with the school and foster relationships locally and regionally.
  • Collaborate on an alumni communications program, utilizing social media and email, to effectively engage and inform alumni about school activities and opportunities for involvement.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School to implement the school's vision and strategic initiatives.
  • Work with the Board's advancement committee to create a three-year strategic development plan with measurable goals.
  • Provide regular reports to the Board's finance and advancement committees.
  • Collaborate with the Communication and Marketing Specialists on integrated marketing and fundraising communications.
  • Represent the school at school events and other relevant meetings and events.
  • Assist with other school duties as assigned.

The requirements for this position include:

  • The candidate should have an excellent understanding of principles and techniques of development activities, including annual giving, major giving, planned giving, event planning, capital campaigns, marketing and communications, and grant procurement and experience in the design and implementation of cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for prospects.
  • The successful candidate will possess 5-7 years of experience serving the advancement component of non-for-profits with preference given to service in faith-based institutions. 
  • A record of success in the various components required for this position must be reflected in previous professional experience. 
  • Must have prior experience with major gifts and foundation/corporate grant- writing, demonstrated leadership with strategic, policy, and budget planning responsibilities. 
  • Ability to influence and engage a wide range of constituents and build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to build trust, work collaboratively, and engage productively with students, families, faculty, staff, trustees, donors and colleagues on the Leadership Team. 
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills that reflect a growth mindset. 
  • Proven ability to communicate passionately, clearly, and concisely. Superior writing and oral communication skills.
  • An ability to lead and motivate collaboratively and manage multiple projects and assignments with excellent organization, delivery, creativity, planning, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s required; masters preferred
