We are currently seeking a passionate, mission-driven Middle School Math Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. About the Role
The Middle School Math Teacher plans, guides, and evaluates student learning in alignment with Catholic values and academic standards. The teacher will lead math instruction for 6th–8th grades, while actively contributing to the school’s Catholic identity and community life.
This position reports directly to the principal and works collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and students in fulfilling the mission of St. Theresa Catholic School.
Ministerial Character
Catholic school employees in the Diocese of Austin serve as spiritual leaders and role models of the faith. As a teacher at St. Theresa, you will help extend the principal’s mission and ministry by teaching, forming, and witnessing to the Gospel through your vocation as an educator.
Essential Responsibilities
Spiritual & Community Leadership
• Support and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church and the mission of the school
• Act as a witness to Gospel values in word and action
• Participate in prayer, liturgy, and the spiritual life of the school
Instructional Excellence
• Teach math to grades 6–8 using research-based instructional practices
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons with clear objectives and differentiated strategies
• Assess student progress using varied tools (formative and summative)
• Maintain accurate records of grades and communication with families
• Create a positive, well-managed classroom rooted in respect and student dignity
Professional Collaboration
• Collaborate with peers in planning and school initiatives
• Communicate professionally and promptly with parents, colleagues, and administration
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and school functions
• Teach one enrichment course as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a related field
• Meets diocesan and TCCED requirements for teaching in a Catholic school
• Completion of Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) training or willingness to complete upon hire
• Practicing Catholic preferred
Preferred
• 3+ years of middle school teaching experience
• Experience with Algebra I curriculum and instructional technology
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Desire to grow in the vocation of Catholic education
