The Principal oversees the day-to-day operations of the school and serves as its instructional and academic leader, collaborating with fellow administrators, faculty and staff, and parents to ensure a school environment and instructional program that is aligned with the Seattle Preparatory School mission and vision. The Principal is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and chairs the Administrative Leadership Team and School Leadership Council.
The Principal will be hired by, and report to, the President. The Principal will lead a team that includes the following eight direct reports: Assistant Principal for Teaching and Learning/Dir. of Adult Faith Formation, Assistant Principal for Community and Belonging, Dean of Students, Dean of Student Academic and Learning Resource Center Services, Director of Athletics, Director of Information Technology, Director of Alumni Service Corps, and the Assistant to the Principal. Prep has approximately 130 faculty and staff.
Professional Qualifications and Personal Qualities
• A practicing Catholic who can model and animate faith in the school community
• Minimum of 5 years in an administrative leadership role
• Master’s degree (required) or a combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
• Experience in a Jesuit institution is a plus
The next Principal at Seattle Prep will need to demonstrate the ability to lead the school in the areas of:
• Academic excellence and innovation
• Communication and relationship building
• Implementation of the strategic plan
