Staff Accountant & Business Office Associate
 
Stone Ridge is seeking an Staff Accountant & Business Office Associate to begin in April 2024.

The Staff Accountant & Business Office Associate supports the work of the Business Office and the School in alignment with the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education.  The Staff Accountant & Business Office Associate is responsible for:
* processing invoices 
* preparing check payments
* submitting payments to a third party processing service; 
* depositing checks, both online and at the bank; 
* managing petty cash; 
* tracking and processing corporate credit card bills; 
* supporting the Business Office in various ways, including preparations for the annual audit; filing; maintaining financial records; accounting for certain programs and budget areas; and managing postage meter account funding and maintenance service. 

The Staff Accountant & Business Office Associate must be a highly motivated individual with excellent quantitative, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. The desired candidate should have experience with accounting systems, preferably Blackbaud, and be experienced in the use of Microsoft Excel, email, and the G Suite. This position reports directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO, aka Director of Finance) and indirectly to the Controller. This team member is a valued role within the Business Office team which, in addition to the CAO and Controller, includes the Business Office Associate, Student Billing Manager, Director of Human Resources, and Human Resources Manager. 

Position responsibilities:
* Accounts payable (via conventional check and third-party processor)
* Accounting duties, including:
* Maintaining and reconciling accounts for parent association, school store, dining services, and various balance accounts
* Maintain files and accounts of fixed asset acquisitions 
* Reconcile auxiliary bank accounts (sweep and money market accounts)
* Reconcile investment accounts
* Reconcile financial leases, depreciation account, accruals
* Processing deposits
* Overseeing corporate credit cards
* Distributing and overseeing department spending reports
* General office management
* Assisting in preparation for the annual audit
* Assisting the Chief Administrative Officer and Controller as needed

Position essential skills and experience:
* Five (5) years of experience in an accounting, finance, and/or office management role.
* Undergraduate or associates degree in accounting required.
* Strong quantitative skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets and financial systems.
* Experience with Blackbaud (Financial Edge), Microsoft Excel and Word, Google Suite
* Strong interpersonal, writing, and oral communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively, flexibly, and adaptively.
