Advent Reflections 2025: Fourth Week of Advent

Advent Banner

We invite you to a series for the ACE and Catholic school community to notice the ways God cultivates growth in our hearts, our classrooms, and our communities as we prepare for Christ’s coming.

Week 4 Scripture:

"Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,

which means "God is with us."
(Matthew 1: 20-23)

Week 4 Prayer:

Father of Emmanuel, as the day of the birth of Christ draws near, do for us as you once did for St. Joseph: banish fear from our hearts and homes, replace all that would divide us with your assurance that you are in our midst. And do for us, too, we humbly pray, what you once did for Mary: create space and desire within us to receive and nurture your Son. Do this so that, each in our own way, may come to know that you, our God, Emmanuel, have come to dwell with us. We ask this through the intercession of Mary and Jesus, and through Christ, the Prince of Peace. Amen.
