First Week of Lent - Sunday, March 9th
Lord, as we continue our Lenten journey on this First Sunday, we recall Your great work on the second day of creation.
On that day, You separated the water above from the water below, creating the sky and the heavens for us to one day call home. This separation of water also draws to mind the parting of the Red Sea when You brought the Israelites out of their captivity in Egypt and one step closer to the Promised Land. Help us to see how You are separating the waters of our lives to lead us closer to the Promised Land of our heavenly home.
Use us as Your instrument when those in our life lose sight of their heavenly destiny and only see the endless expanse of water in front of them. May we see the space present in our life not as emptiness, but as an opportunity for You to come and sanctify that space, and fill our hearts, all the more. Help us to make space in our lives for You this week.
We make this prayer through Christ, our Lord. Amen.
