Third Week of Lent - Sunday, March 23th
Lord, as we enter this third week of Lent, we reflect on the creation of the sun, the moon, and the stars. Just as You count the stars and know each by name, help us to make all of Your children known, loved, and served through our daily actions.
In many areas, winter gives way to signs of spring. May our delight in each glimpse of sunlight remind us of the Light of Your Son, which constantly shines on us and through us.
This week, as we prepare to celebrate the Annunciation, may we also look to Mary, Our Mother, as a model of the moon. Like the moon, Mary’s humility reminds us that we do not produce light on our own. Instead, we are called to reflect the Light of Christ to all those we meet.
Open us to the little annunciations of our daily lives and help us to respond “yes” lovingly. For it is through our “yes”es that we can continue the work of making Jesus incarnate to a world in need.
We make this prayer through the intercession of Notre Dame, Our Mother, to Christ, our Lord. Amen.
