Irish Teaching Fellows
For the last 20 years, recent Irish college graduates have embarked on a journey across the Atlantic to serve as members of the ACE Teaching Fellows cohort. More than 30 young people from Ireland have participated in the ACE Teaching Fellows program, undertaking the same programme as their American classmates, earning a cost-free Master of Education, and serving in under-resourced Catholic schools across the U.S.
Currently, John Redmond, of Co. Wexford, and Jane Gibbons, of Co. Galway, serve as elementary teachers in Washington, D.C., and New York City, respectively. These zealous teachers (affectionately known as Irish ACErs) bring a valuable perspective to their schools, communities, and the ACE program.
