Life in the City

Welcome to ACE Denver, the Mile High City! Here in Colorado, the air may already be thin, but the mountains will absolutely take your breath away! We’re home to 4 national parks, some of the finest skiing in the country, and the first Chipotle & Qdoba. We’re also lucky enough to have an alleged 300 days of sunshine per year, and while the weather might have you in snowboots in the morning and flip flops by the afternoon, that's just Colorado keeping you humble! After seeing the magnificent Rocky Mountains climb up into your horizon on the daily, we’d challenge you to find a place with a more beautiful commute. If you pay us a visit, and we hope you do, there’s plenty to get to, whether that’s concerts at Red Rocks, ghost towns from the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush, or hikes at any of the 58 Fourteeners that truly make Denver “ACE at High Altitude”.

If you had to pick one word to describe your ACE experience thus far, what would it be? Why?

Empowering - I believe education is the biggest gift you can give someone, and I am grateful that I can empower my students every day to help them reach their full potential.

If you had to pick one word to describe your ACE experience thus far, what would it be? Why?

Exhilarating! I could count on one hand the amount of 'bad days' I've had during my first year in ACE. There are obviously tougher, more frustrating days, but everyday is extremely fulfilling and energizing at school and in community.

How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE Teacher?

I hope to grow in my faith and feel more grounded in daily life by building habits of prayer, reflection, and recognizing Christ in my students and community. I also hope to become a more attentive and intentional educator who meets students where they are.

If you had to pick one word to describe your ACE experience thus far, what would it be? Why?

Abundance. I have found so much joy in my life as a teacher and my time in community, and I am constantly in awe of God's overflowing, abundant grace throughout this experience.

What are you most looking forward to most as an ACE teacher this year?

I am most looking forward to getting to know my students, what sparks their curiosity, and what makes them alive. I can’t wait to witness their “aha moments”, their firsts, and their deeper questions as they grow as students.
