Denver
Life in the City
We live in Denver: four pro sports teams, less than an hour from the slopes, 300+ sunny days a year, and we are close to Boulder. January weather could be 60 degrees one day or snowing the next. We’re not too close to any other ACE communities, but in the words of John Staud, “So is Hawaii but who complains about paradise!” There is always something to do, whether it be hitting up the nightlife downtown, catching a concert or a game, skiing the nearby slopes, or just walking around the city. Denver is also a fairly young city, and home to a fabulous Alumni Club that offers fun game watches!

What is one of your favorite memories from your first year in ACE?
I loved coaching futsal and seeing my team win the semi-finals in sudden-death overtime. Getting to celebrate with them after seeing them score that goal is something I will not forget. Go Lobos!

Why did you say "yes" to serving children in Catholic schools through ACE?
I said "yes" to ACE and to serving children in Catholic schools because working with students is such meaningful work and such a unique privilege! I’m so grateful for the opportunity to give back to the education system that served my formation as a human being so well!

Why did you say "yes" to serving children in Catholic schools through ACE?
I chose to join ACE because the sincerity of its mission inspired me. My goal is to contribute to creating a positive learning environment where every child understands God's profound love for them. All children deserve a holistic education, and I believe fostering their faith is intrinsically linked to developing their minds and souls to their fullest potential.

If you had to pick just one word to describe your ACE experience so far, what would it be?
Transformative. I said it last year and I would absolutely describe it that way again. I could not have imagined how much my middle schoolers would help me grow as a person even as I worked to help them grow.
