Life in the City

Sitting along the Ohio River, which divides the northern and the southern U.S., Louisville is a modern metropolitan area steeped in tradition. Each neighborhood offers unique things to do and carries its own dialect.

While Louisville certainly exudes the charm befitting a southern area's reputation, the vibrant music and performing arts scene, desire for competitive innovation, and farmers markets superseded fried chicken a long time ago.

If you had to pick one word to describe your ACE experience thus far, what would it be? Why?

Growth - I’ve changed a lot in the last year. I’ve grown more into my identity and my values. A large part of that has been because of this experience.

Why did you say "yes" to serving as a Catholic school educator through ACE Teaching Fellows?

I said "yes" to serving through ACE Teaching Fellows to learn how to become the best possible educator that students deserve. I wanted to learn how to best encounter students and create equitable learning environments, both inside and outside the classroom. I hope to apply what I learned and model for students what it means to be a citizen of the world that inspires learning in others.
