Life in the City

Sitting along the Ohio River, which divides the northern and the southern U.S., Louisville is a modern metropolitan area steeped in tradition. Each neighborhood offers unique things to do and carries its own dialect.

While Louisville certainly exudes the charm befitting a southern area's reputation, the vibrant music and performing arts scene, desire for competitive innovation, and farmers markets superseded fried chicken a long time ago.

If you had to pick just one word to describe your ACE experience so far, what would it be (and why)?

Freeing. By giving myself completely to the academic, spiritual, and communal demands of ACE, I have gained a greater understanding of the spiritual truth that death begets life. It has been through daily sacrifices that I have been able to become more fully myself and therefore better serve and glorify God.

Why did you say "yes" to serving children in Catholic schools through ACE?

ACE encourages their teachers to become not just educators, but role models as well. It gives them the tools and supports to make a lasting impact at their schools. I'm thankful for the opportunity to meaningfully serve students who show me God's love every day.
