Life in the City

We have a unique house with a lot of history, located within view of the Capitol Building. The house is centrally located, only miles away from the revitalized Bricktown, downtown district. Whether running, cooking, praying, doing science experiments, or rocking out with our textbooks out, we all support and love one another. OKC is also within driving distance of many other ACE communities, such as Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin.

What do you love most about your ACE school? Why?

I love the vibrant faith community at my ACE school. From weekly rosary and Mass to special Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter events, it is so special to see students and their families in reverent prayer together.

I want to help pass on the gift of Catholic education to the next generation of students.

Blessed. Since day one, I’ve met some truly wonderful people who are incredibly supportive and just great to be around.

What do you love most about your ACE school? Why?

I am incredibly grateful for the strong faith community at Sacred Heart. The collective effort of parents and teachers to help each student on his or her journey to Heaven is a constant and beautiful reminder of the sacredness of our role as Catholic school educators.

How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE teacher?

I hope my two years with ACE will enable me to deepen my own faith while enhancing my ability to share it with others. I look forward to the opportunity to talk about Church teachings with my students in the context of their own lives and passions.

If you had to pick just one word to describe your ACE experience so far, what would it be?

Vocational. Teaching is a lot of hard work. But, when I get up for school, go to class, or spend time in community, it isn't work. I lean on knowing that this is where God wanted me to be. To learn, grow, and love.
