Life in the City

We have a unique house with a lot of history, located within view of the Capitol Building. The house is centrally located, only miles away from the revitalized Bricktown, downtown district. Whether running, cooking, praying, doing science experiments, or rocking out with our textbooks out, we all support and love one another. OKC is also within driving distance of many other ACE communities, such as Dallas, Fort Worth, and Austin.

Why did you say "Yes" to serving children in Catholic schools through ACE?

I first said "yes" to ACE because every ACE teacher I had ever met was dynamic, well-spoken, and joyful. Their energy was contagious and I wanted to be a part of it! I continue to say "yes" -even in moments of difficulty or self-doubt - because of the love I have for my students. They inspire me every single day to be the best person I can be.

If you had to pick just one word to describe your ACE experience so far, what would it be (and why)?

Enlightening - I have already learned so much during my ACE experience, from the long history of the Catholic Church to how much careful planning and preparation goes into being a successful educator.

I have always loved working with kids, and I hope to help my students discover their passions both within and beyond my classroom.

If you had to pick just one word to describe your ACE experience so far, what would it be (and why)?

Rewarding! Despite the expected challenges in my first year of teaching, I believe ACE has helped me become a better teacher and more importantly, a better person. I also find it rewarding because it allows me to help my students succeed and make a difference in their communities.
