Life in the City

Welcome to the biggest small town in ACE! Oklahoma City has the character (and cowboy culture!) of a small town with all the adventure of the big city.

Life in OKC is full of basketball games, farmers market trips, pickleball, and rodeos! Our house is in a cozy neighborhood within walking distance from a Catholic church and the BEST pizza restaurant in the city! And we’re driving distance from lots of other ACE communities like Dallas, Tulsa, and Austin!

How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE teacher?

I hope to grow more deeply into who God created me to be through loving Him in the faces of my students and community members and learning how to be the best student, friends, and teacher I can be.

What is one of your favorite memories from your first year in ACE Teaching Fellows?

A few of my students printed a giant flag with my face on it. It was a funny and thoughtful gesture that reminded me how grateful I am for them and the rest of my school's community.

Why did you say "yes" to serving as a Catholic school educator through ACE Teaching Fellows?

I thought about being a professor, but then I thought my life would be focused on a discipline first and students second. I wanted my vocation to be about students, and everything in ACE is ultimately oriented towards the students.
