Life in the City

Welcome to Pensacola! A city where the beaches are filled with white sand, the large Naval base (which is located just a few miles down the road from St. John’s) brings the Blue Angels flying overhead, and the sunshine is seemingly endless. You can find ACE Pensacola down by the water, downtown in the historic district, or cheering on one of the local minor league teams. PensacolACE is a dream!

What are you most looking forward to most as an ACE teacher this

One of my main goals is for each of my students to have positive memories of 3rd Grade when reflecting back years from now. I’m most looking forward to discovering the ways we will work together and accomplish this goal together.

Why did you say "yes" to serving as a Catholic school educator through ACE Teaching Fellows?

I said yes to serving as a Catholic school educator because I desire to become who God called me to be. Through the Ace program I will be formed, challenged, and educated in my pursuit of this goal. Ultimately, I desire to live a life of service to God and to my fellow man throughout this program.

How do you hope to grow in your experience as an ACE Teacher?

I hope to grow by staying “poor in spirit,” as Jesus teaches in the Beatitudes. No matter how much I learn or how prepared I may feel, there is always more to receive. I want to remain humble, teachable, and open to learning from my students, my community, and everyone I encounter through ACE.

What is the one thing that you love most about your ACE school? Why?

What I love the most about my ACE school is the diversity of cultures present. Yet, it’s the immersion of these cultures into one community that is natural and loving that makes it so special!
