High School Summer School is designed for rising 9th - 12th grade students seeking to earn credit* in core academic courses. The Summer School provides two sessions of learning equivalent to 1 semester of credit: each session is three weeks long. Students have the option of attending either or both sessions to enhance their content skills.
The first session is equivalent to the first semester of coursework, and the second session is equivalent to the second semester of coursework.
*Students attending Saint Joseph High School & Marian High School are eligible to earn credit. Students attending other area schools should confirm credit eligibility with their counselor.
High School Summer School will be held at Saint Joseph High School in South Bend and is open to any interested 9th – 12th graders. Students have the opportunity to register for 1 class. The list of planned courses is:

SAT Prep Course (Designed for Students Preparing to take the SAT)
Want to work for that bump in SAT scores? This non-credit bearing course is a fun and easy way to prepare for the SAT exam (the similarities with ACT will be pointed out too)! Brush up on the type of mathematical skills you need for the exam, and prepare for the writing questions as well. You'll even work on the writing skills you'll want for the essay, and your college applications!
ISTEP Prep Course
This course is designed to those who want to get ahead or those who had some struggles with ISTEP during the last school year. The course will focus on the necessary skills for your student to be successful in completing the ISTEP test in the next go around.
